Insurance Product Development & Coverage Analysis Manager - Medmarc

The Product Development and Coverage Analysis Manager at ProAssurance supports Medmarc, a life sciences products liability line of business, by overseeing the development and regulatory implementation of new insurance product lines, primarily specialized E&S coverage offerings. The role involves collaboration with various departments, expertise in insurance coverage, and leadership in product development.

Salary: $115,870.00 - $191,204.00

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of new insurance products, including drafting coverage language and providing creative coverage solutions.
• Develop a strategic vision for Medmarc's coverage offering and advise on coverage needs and growth strategies.
• Manage the planning, development, drafting, implementation, and introduction of new and revised insurance products.
• Develop policy language for new and revised product offerings.
• Advise on alternative coverage solutions considering legal and competitive environments.
• Seek input from stakeholders and prepare communications for leadership.
• Coordinate with other business units on new product initiatives.
• Provide day-to-day coverage analysis and consultation to support underwriting and account-management efforts.
• Consult on and interpret coverage language.
• Monitor the marketplace and analyze competitors' policies.
• Develop and recommend coverage endorsement language.
• Respond to questions about coverage terms.
• Draft customer communications related to coverage.
• Advise on underwriting rules for insurance forms and endorsements.
• Develop and deliver educational content on policy forms and coverage terms.
• Prepare and deliver presentations and create educational materials for internal and external audiences.
• Create coverage guides and references for underwriting.
• Coordinate with Legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance.
• Prepare documentation for regulatory filings and respond to form-related questions.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree, with a strong preference for candidates with a juris doctor (JD).
• Minimum of five years of experience in a casualty insurance environment, including insurance defense or coverage consultation work at a law firm.
• CPCU, AIC, or ARM certification is highly desired.
• Experience analyzing, interpreting, and developing coverage language.
• Strong relationship management skills and ability to create productive relationships with insurance producers and agencies.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, marketing, and sales skills.
• Excellent listening, speaking, writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to meet work deadlines and manage workload effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
