Mechanical Estimator - Sheet Metal Fabrication | AU | WFH

A full-time remote estimator role in the sheet metal fabrication industry, requiring knowledge of estimating software, materials, and manufacturing processes, with responsibilities including managing quotes, reviewing requests, and coordinating with suppliers.

Location: Remote (Philippines)

Responsibilities

• Start and manage quotes within Zoho estimating systems.
• Review quote requests and identify missing information.
• Enter materials, labour and processing requirements into estimates.
• Ensure folded items are listed separately and correctly detailed.
• Create and maintain organised job folders and documentation.
• Save and manage drawings, DXF files, and customer documentation.
• Complete nesting in CypCut and calculate sheet quantities, cut times, and folding requirements.
• Estimate jobs manually or refer to drafting when needed.
• Obtain supplier pricing for coatings, galvanising, and freight.
• Apply drafting allowances and markup structures.
• Add part quantities and descriptions from customer requests.
• Assign quote ownership and ensure proper filing.
• Identify and communicate potential issues to the team.
• Participate in team meetings and use additional software for estimating and nesting.

Requirements

• Experience in estimating, fabrication, or sheet metal manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with estimating and nesting software such as Zoho and CypCut is favorable.
• Strong understanding of materials, fabrication processes, folding, and workflows.
• Ability to organize and maintain accurate digital records.
• Ability to work well in a team and independently.
• Ability to work to schedules and adapt as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Respond well to feedback and maintain a positive attitude.
