OCS & Charging Engineer

This role involves leading the integration and configuration of Online Charging System (OCS) for a telecom environment, focusing on vendor engagement, data model setup, API development, and operational support.

Responsibilities

• Own OCS vendor engagement and lead all vendor integration discussions.
• Configure OCS data model including Plan ID, Account ID, Quota, Balance, Credit, Expiry lifecycle.
• Integrate OCS with Entitlement Server via profile update API (Diameter Ro/Gy).
• Build account provisioning flow on SIM activation.
• Configure product catalogue: plans, bundles, add-ons, data passes.
• Implement quota management APIs: top-up, deduction, balance query.
• Implement credit balance and expiry lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate OCS as workflow activities.
• Integrate OCS with PCRF for quota threshold policy triggers via Diameter Gx.
• Develop billing reconciliation and reporting APIs.
• Deploy OCS in production, configure failover, and perform load testing.
• Post go-live operations including new plan launches, quota adjustments, and billing investigations.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of telecom charging/billing engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with OCS platform (any vendor).
• Configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of OCS (Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, etc.).
• Understanding of online charging architecture: CTF, OCF, Rating, Account Balance Management.
• Ability to read and debug Diameter messages independently.
• Experience with Ro, Gy, and Gx interfaces.
• Product catalogue management skills.
• Balance management skills: top-up, consumption, threshold triggers, expiry.
• REST API integration skills.
• SQL querying and understanding of OCS data models and billing databases.
• Fluent English.
