Pocket-Lint - Streaming & AV Author

Pocket-lint is seeking a Streaming & AV (Audio/Visual) Author to create high-quality content on streaming platforms, smart TVs, home theater setups, and AV hardware. The role is freelance, remote within the U.S., and involves research, writing, and content management.

Location: Remote (US)

Responsibilities

• Research and write original buying guides, tutorials, and news related to streaming hardware, platforms, and AV setups.
• Extract core story elements quickly to deliver timely reports.
• Pitch article topics to the editorial team.
• Input work into CMS and format images.
• Stay updated on streaming ecosystem and AV hardware news.
• Coordinate with the editorial team for assignments and feedback.
• Follow editorial guidelines to produce high-quality content.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in writing and editing technology or AV content in English.
• Deep knowledge of streaming ecosystem (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV) and media servers (Plex).
• Broad familiarity with home theater hardware (Smart TVs, HDMI standards, soundbars, audio formats).
• Analytical thinking and insightful commentary on industry developments.
• Proficiency with SEO practices and experience with a custom CMS.
• Self-starter attitude and passion for tech.
