Polish Life Science Linguist (Translator, Reviewer, and Editor)

A remote Life Science Linguist role providing translation, revision, and editing services for technical, medical, and regulatory documents in the life sciences field. The position is for independent contractors working on a project basis.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex life science documents from English (USA) to Polish with 100% technical accuracy.
• Conduct bilingual reviews of translated materials against the source text to ensure no omissions, mistranslations, or terminology errors.
• Refine the style, flow, and grammar of target-language content to ensure it is culturally appropriate and meets the 'native-level' quality expected for publication or regulatory submission.
• Maintain and update client-specific glossaries and translation memories to ensure consistency across large-scale projects.
• Adhere to ISO 17100 and ISO 13485 standards for linguistic quality and risk management.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MA, MS, PhD, or MD) in a Life Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, etc.) or a degree in Translation with significant field experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in life science translation/editing.
• Native-level fluency in the target language and professional-level mastery of the source language.
• Extensive experience with CAT Tools (e.g., SDL Trados, memoQ, Memsource).
• Proven ability to handle high-stakes regulatory content, such as EMA/FDA filings or MedDRA/EDQM terminology.
