Principal Technical Consultant, Platform Engineering

AHEAD is seeking a Principal Technical Consultant in Platform Engineering to lead the development, design, and implementation of complex technical solutions for clients, focusing on Modern Apps & Platform Engineering. The role involves leadership, mentorship, and strategic planning.

Location: United States

Salary: $230,000–$290,000

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, at the highest quality standards while exceeding client expectations.
• Design and implement complex, mission-critical transformational enterprise grade technical solutions for clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, drive business growth, and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
• Develop high quality deliverables and presentations for Client engineering teams and senior leaders, including technical and non-technical documentation.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their technical challenges and develop tailored solutions.
• Create and present solution designs, options, ideas, and innovations to clients’ senior leadership teams.
• Develop and maintain Technical Roadmaps and Innovation Plans.
• Develop and implement CI extbackslash{}CD solutions.
• Establish project estimates and plans, identify risks and mitigations, oversee development and delivery of technical solutions.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members.
• Actively lead collaboration within our technical communities.

Requirements

• Experience and ability to develop solutions on a whiteboard in front of a customer.
• Strong consulting and business acumen.
• 10+ years of IT experience and 5+ years of Cloud, DevOps, Automation, Application Modernization, Digital Transformation experience.
• Multiple certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS DevOps Engineer Pro, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Terraform Associate, etc.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing Platform core services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, Containers, Security, Identity).
• Experience with organizational adoption of transformational initiatives (Platform Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Transformation, Application Modernization).
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation).
• Experience with deployment services (Harness, GitHub, Ansible, Jenkins).
• Programming experience in Java, Python, or similar languages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of modern cloud-native application design principles, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI extbackslash{}CD Pipelines.
• Knowledge of enterprise organizations across multiple industries and IT functions.
