Project Cost Controls Manager, PV South Central

The Project Cost Controls Manager at SOLV Energy is responsible for establishing and managing processes to monitor, report, and control project costs across the enterprise, working closely with various departments to analyze project financials and improve cost management strategies.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $125,768.00 - $167,272.00

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Operations PMO, and Operations team on portfolio cost-control, forecasting, and cost reporting.
• Utilize project management software and financial tools to analyze project costs, budgets, productivity, and forecasts.
• Oversee the budget mapping process, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain cost tracking and reporting systems.
• Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in monthly forecast meetings, and deliver Monthly Reporting package.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather cost data and provide insights.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Assist in the development of project budgets and forecasts.
• Support project teams in understanding and interpreting cost data.
• Build data models for pre-construction and estimating teams.
• Implement earned value management system.
• Contribute to lessons learned and root cause analysis.
• Improve and maintain project analytics system.
• Utilize statistical and project controls analysis methods.
• Set up meetings to innovate and improve project cost analysis processes.
• Provide data analytics support using visualization tools.
• Develop data quality measures for reporting.
• Engage in field improvements and understand project team struggles.
• Implement predictive analytics models.
• Conduct detailed spend analysis.
• Identify project risks and stress-test them.
• Upskill team members in analytics.
• Train and supervise analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of comparable experience.
• Experience in construction cost management or related field.
• Proficiency with project management principles and software including CMiC.
• Experience working with internal stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills, including virtual conferencing.
• Experienced in Microsoft Excel.
• Data-driven and analytical mindset.
• Strong data management skills and problem-solving creativity.
• Detail-oriented, motivated self-starter.
• Ability to travel as needed.
