Senior Fullstack Engineer (Trip Management)

Exoticca is a pioneering online travel agency focused on creating extraordinary travel experiences and long-distance dream trips. They are seeking a Senior Back-end Software Engineer to join their rapidly growing, multicultural team, working on their Trip Management System to enhance travel product configuration, revenue strategies, and operational efficiency.

Location: Remote (Spain)

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve systems for designing, configuring, and launching complex travel products at scale.
• Transform destinations, itineraries, flights, hotels, and services into structured, reliable, and sellable products.
• Ensure flexibility and accuracy in product configuration while maintaining operational efficiency and scalability.
• Develop and improve capabilities supporting smart departures, pricing strategies, bookings, payments, refunds, and wallet flows.
• Safeguard financial correctness across the product lifecycle.
• Build internal platforms and tools for Product, Finance, and Operations teams.
• Increase reliability and reduce manual intervention in calendar management, flight configuration, and payment processes.
• Improve system robustness, reduce operational risk, and scale complexity.
• Refine problems before coding, use data to validate assumptions, and participate in product decisions.

Requirements

• Strong problem-solving mindset and enjoyment of ambiguous problems.
• Effective use of AI in daily work (coding, debugging, designing, automating).
• Product-oriented thinking and understanding of why solutions are built.
• Comfort working across multiple technologies and learning new ones.
• Solid knowledge of RESTful API design, development, and integration.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message-based communication.
• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and clean architecture principles.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Strong emphasis on testing, code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Familiarity with observability practices (logging, monitoring, tracing).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Backend: PHP; Frontend: React, React Native.
