Senior Instructional Designer

The Senior Instructional Designer at MedCerts, a Stride Inc. company, is responsible for designing and developing learner-centered online courses in healthcare and IT, supporting organizational growth and learner success.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design and development of online courses, focusing on asynchronous learning experiences.
• Apply evidence-based instructional design principles, including adult learning theory, Cognitive Load Theory, and the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning.
• Design assessments and learning activities that support mastery, certification readiness, and applied skill development.
• Integrate digital tools and AI-enhanced strategies to improve learner outcomes.
• Align course materials with accessibility and usability best practices.
• Partner with subject matter experts to analyze content and translate knowledge into effective learning experiences.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to support course development and ensure quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3+ years of instructional design experience, preferably in higher education or workforce programs.
• Expertise in needs analysis, learning solution design, assessment, and LMS-based course development.
• Knowledge of instructional theory, assessment practices, and learner experience.
• Proficiency with LMS platforms and digital course delivery environments.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
• Strong commitment to Quality Assurance and continuous improvement.
• Strategic thinking considering instructional, operational, technological, and business factors.
• Collaboration skills and experience working with SMEs and cross-functional teams.
