Staff Engineer – Developer Productivity

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $180,000 - $320,000 USD per year

Responsibilities

• Own the build/test/deploy process of the software and how each team fits into it.
• Detangle monorepo build/test/deploy patterns to enable faster team movement, possibly using tools like turbo repo.
• Improve testing practices by enhancing test coverage and supporting a growing matrix of data sources, destinations, and enrichment patterns.
• Support multi-region and multi-cloud backend infrastructure, including launching Hightouch in new regions to meet data residency requirements.
• Support operational excellence by catching issues early and responding quickly.

Requirements

• Significant experience improving the productivity of a 50+ person development team through changes to build/test/deploy processes.
• Strong development fundamentals and ability to drive framework-level improvements across multiple teams.
• Experience with backend code, including complex systems, and ability to dive into feature code as needed.
• Experience in a developer-productivity team or as a key build person at a fast-growing startup, with a track record of improving cross-team metrics.
