The Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison – Pain, US at Viatris is a field-based medical professional responsible for engaging with healthcare providers, developing medical education materials, and supporting medical affairs activities in the pain management therapeutic area.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $95,000.00 - $193,000.00 USD

Responsibilities

• Draft, execute, monitor & adapt independent US MSL Stakeholder Engagement Plans for target KOLs/HCPs.
• Support all normal asset-/disease state-level MSL business activities including travel, HCP interactions, and congress attendance.
• Provide monthly summaries of activities & achievements.
• Submit expense reports and document HCP interactions in VEEVA.
• Respond to Unsolicited Medical Requests (UMRs).
• Identify & communicate activities of rival Medical Affairs organizations.
• Identify & communicate unmet medical education needs of target KOLs/HCPs.
• Develop independent, innovative, nonpromotional medical education materials.
• Gather & communicate KOL insights to inform strategy.
• Develop & communicate independent Ad Board, Congress & Customer Insight Reports.
• Staff independent Medical Affairs booths at congresses.
• Provide training on products and disease states to internal functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical industry. Advanced degree (MD) highly preferred.
• Experience in Pain Management required.
• Knowledge of US Pain Medical Science Liaison roles, clinical trials, therapeutic areas, SOPs, promotional laws, and ethical standards.
• Ability to develop and manage relationships with KOLs and medical professionals.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to listen for insights and draw implications.
• High performance, accountability, and goal-oriented.
• Motivated, adaptable, and committed to DEI principles.
• Reside within or near the designated territory regions preferred.
• US Remote; extensive travel (50%-80%) required.
• Proficiency in English.
