Chamorro Interpreter

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring bilingual Chamorro-English phone interpreters to provide on-demand interpretation services remotely across various industries, supporting limited-English speakers and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community.

Location: Remote (United States)

Salary: $1.25 - $1.40 per minute

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
• Remain calm during interpreting sessions, especially in emergency situations.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions and protocol to meet client expectations.
• Understand industry-specific terminology and protocol.

Requirements

• Fluency in Chamorro and English.
• Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to stay neutral and objective, even with sensitive subjects.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Ability to read and write in the requested languages (highly preferred).
