Chief Of Staff GM Advertising

Instacart is seeking a Chief of Staff to the General Manager of its Advertising division to enhance operational discipline, strategic alignment, and organizational effectiveness in a fast-growing, complex retail media environment.

Location: Remote (Canada)

Salary: $203,000–$214,000 CAD

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a clear operating rhythm for the Ads organization, including meetings, leadership cadences, and communications.
• Ensure cross-functional leaders and external partners are well-prepared and aligned for meetings, supported by research and crisp briefings.
• Track and ensure timely delivery of priority initiatives, surfacing blockers early and maintaining stakeholder alignment.
• Maintain tight and reliable budget visibility, partnering with Finance for workforce and non-workforce spend tracking, and support annual planning with clear numbers.
• Support the GM in becoming a more effective leader by providing strategic counsel and operational support.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in consulting, corporate tech, or advertising/media, with exposure to executive audiences.
• Strong grounding in digital advertising, retail media, or related fields.
• High EQ and a proven track record of building trusted relationships with senior leaders.
• Exceptional analytical skills, capable of handling complex, ambiguous challenges.
• Proven project management skills, managing multiple high-stakes workstreams under tight deadlines.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing executive-ready materials.
