Medical Director, Scientific Affairs

Headway is building a new accessible mental healthcare system by automating insurance and providing tools for therapists, supporting over 75,000 providers and 1 million patients nationwide. They aim to transform mental healthcare delivery through innovative technology and comprehensive platform solutions.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $211,200 - $330,000

Responsibilities

• Support Headway health plan partnerships and strategy
• Promote external relations with Payers through relationship building, presentations/reporting, sales meetings, and conference participation
• Develop a critical understanding of how mental health clinicians utilize digital tools to deliver high quality care and document in a compliant manner
• Work collaboratively with cross functional teams including product, design, growth, marketing, payer relations, data & analytics, and operations
• Be willing to travel

Requirements

• Psychiatrist (MD/DO) or Clinical Psychologist (PhD) with 5+ years of clinical experience in a fast-paced, high growth business
• 2+ years of experience working in payer or partnership roles, ideally in technology environments
• Industry influencer with demonstrated passion for reimagining behavioral health delivery and measurement
• Proven thought leader with peer-reviewed publications, media articles, or other content
• Effective at communicating clinical information to non-clinical staff and large populations
• Strong analytical skills in analyzing and synthesizing data & research insights
• Creative thinker with ability to explore data in new ways
• Familiar with clinical quality measurement and peer review systems in healthcare
• Collaborator eager to work with product, operations, and sales teams
• Familiar with healthcare regulations and laws surrounding corporate practice of medicine
• Experience with healthcare tech companies or startups
• Based on or near the East Coast and willing to travel
