AR Collections Associate

The AR Collections Associate is responsible for following up on claims, communicating with the field and supervisor, and ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions.

Location: Multiple (MENA)

Salary: $20 – $22

Responsibilities

• Review and work denials in workflow system daily
• Review and work denials in payer portal and/or clearinghouse portal daily
• Review and work in DWF for tasks with follow-up dates that are set to expire on that day
• Review and work in DWF for tasks without a payer response once past 30 days from billing
• Follow-up with Field on updates to items assigned to them that are past follow-up date
• Update DWF with clear concise notes as claims are worked
• Notify Field of denials that require their attention
• Notify biller when claims can be electronically rebilled
• Send out paper or complete web portal billing once any necessary corrections have been made
• Communicate with Field Finance and SSC Management on issues with collections
• Review unapplied cash log for any items that can be applied and work with cash team to resolve
• Work credit balances on the aging and overpayment account and follow the credit balance procedure for resolution
• Complete necessary forms and provide appropriate support for refunds, cash move, sales adjustments, transfer of liability
• Ensure internal control compliance with all assigned areas and other audit requirements
• Assist in onboarding of new hires by providing required training
• Participate in team meetings and foster collaboration
• Support management and department objectives
• Support special projects and initiatives
• Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance and maintain effective control environment under SOX 404
• Perform system testing and other related duties

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associates or Bachelor's degree in a Finance related field preferred
• No experience in Medical Collections necessary
• Must be self-motivated and detail oriented
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly organized with ability to multi-task
• Analytical skills and ability to collect information from different sources
• Effectively use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
