Responsibilities

Review and accurately code Cardiology IR/CV Surgery and E/M cases to maximize reimbursement in a timely manner.
Review and accurately code E/M visits and office procedures.
Able to work independently and research coding scenarios.
Meet daily production and quality goals with a 95% accuracy rate.
Attend conference calls and provide feedback.
Communicate with leadership on coding or documentation issues.
Stay current on coding guidelines and maintain credentials.
Participate in coding department and education meetings.
Expand coding skill set into other specialties.
Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

High School diploma required. Associate or BS degree preferred.
Successful completion of at least one AHIMA or AAPC-certified program with active credential (e.g., CCS-P, CPC).
Minimum of 5 years physician coding experience, with at least 3 years in Cardiology IR and Vascular.
Experience in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Pediatric/Congenital procedures is a PLUS.
Proficient knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, surgical techniques, billing policies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, electronic health records.
Experience with Google Workspace and remote work is preferred.
CCVTC, Auditing, CPMA certifications, Billing experience, Epic and Cerner PowerChart experience are PLUSs.
